Welcome to the Knowles Mercy Spirituality web site. We are a retreat center located on the banks of the Platte River just west of Omaha, Nebraska.  A ministry of the Sisters of Mercy, we invite persons of all faiths and all walks of life to share the comforts of our indoor space and to enjoy twenty-two acres of natural beauty surrounding the Center.

Our staff offers retreats, programs, spiritual direction and nurturing presence to adults whose life and spiritual journeys bring them to the Center.  We hope that we will soon have an opportunity to meet you in person.

Simply Spirit 2008 ~ Dinner and Auction

Once again, this coming fall, Knowles Mercy Center will be hosting ‘Simply Spirit’ – a dinner/auction on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the College of Saint Mary.  Last year’s event was truly a success and an enjoyable time for all. This year the Sophia Wisdom Award will be awarded to Susan Coyle Naatz, a long time supporter of Knowles Mercy Center. Your support of this event is most important to the continued success of the Center.

In the spirit of Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, we continue to invite persons of all faiths to experience Knowles Mercy Center.  Our hope is that through the support of generous people like you, we can offer this opportunity to individuals and organizations that would not normally have the financial means to come to the Center.

If you would like more information on the fundraiser or the center itself, please call us at 402.359.4288 or email us at kmscenter@mercywmw.org

TEACH ME TO LISTEN

Teach me to listen, O God,
to those nearest me, my family,
my friends, my co-workers.
Help me to be aware that
no matter what words I hear,
the message is,
“Accept the person I am.
Listen to Me."

Teach me to listen, my caring God,
to those far from me—
the whisper of the hopeless,
the pleas of the forgotten,
the cry of the anguished.

Teach me to listen,
O God my Mother, to myself.
Help me to be less afraid
to trust the voice inside  - in the deepest part of me.

Teach me to listen, Holy Spirit,
for your voice—in busyness
and in boredom,
in certainty and in doubt,
in noise and in silence.
Teach me, Lord to listen.  Amen
