AN AUTUMN DAY RETREAT...Wednesday, September 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with guest presenter Sylvia Thompson
"Everyday is a miracle, everyday is a gift." Take time away to discover the Sacred in the ordinary events of life. Explore what poets have found that "The earth's crammed with heaven." And "every bush afire with God.". Through prayerful reflection, sharing, and listening we will explore ways to watch and be attentive to the Presence of the Holy One in all of life. We will attempt to understand with St. Francis "that everything imparts God's grace." Cost is $30 and includes continental breakfast, lunch, and the retreat.
HEALTH CARE RETREATS...Being a Healing Presence (Level 1) on September 28 and Being a Supportive Presence (Level 2) on October 20. Retreat Day goes from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with guest presenter Patrick Davis. Knowles Mercy Center in partnership with Patrick Davis is offering health care renewal days for caregivers, Stephen Ministers, health ministers, nurses, social workers, physicians, dietary aides, med aides, nursing home administrators or anyone involved in the "minsitry" of health care. Whether you are in a paid or volunteer position, you are invited to participate. 8 CEU's for each retreat. Cost is $60 and includes continental breakfast and lunch.
OCTOBER SILENT DIRECTED RETREAT...Sunday, October 3 at noon through Tuesday, October 5 at 4:00 p.m. Enjoy a few days of time away, during the fall season to calm and nurture your spirit. A prayerful experience of solitude, time spent in prayer, and in relationship with your God. You will meet daily with a Spiritual Director, and gather for prayer daily as a group. Spiritual Direction, private room, and meals are included. Cost is $195 with a $50 non-refundable desposit due in advance with registration.
AWAKENING THE DREAMER...CHANGING THE DREAM...Tuesday October 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with guest presenter Kathleen Erickson RSM. Both educational and inspirational this reteat day invites participants to help create a more environmentally, sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just world. Divided into four parts, each part creates a greater awareness of the current state of Earth and the great need for changes in human behavior. Cost is $30 and includes continental breakfast and lunch.
FINDING GOD IN DAILY LIFE...A RETREAT FOR MEN with Fr. Richard Hauser SJ...Friday, November 19 at 6:00 p.m. through Saturday, November 20 at 5:00 p.m. Do you have the desire to live a deeply Christian life in the midst of busy daily schedules? Inspired by the biblical message on the Holy Spirit, this workshop seeks to develop practical guidelines for recognizing the presence and absence of the Spirit in daily activities and aids the participants in applying these guidelines to their own lives. A good preparation for this workshop is reading Fr. Hauser's book "Moving in the Spirit: Becoming a Contemplative in Action" (Paulist Press, $9.95) Cost is $85 and includes room, Friday evening wine and cheese gathering, continental breakfast, lunch, and retreat. A DAY TO BE GRATEFUL...Thursday, November 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Enjoy a day of reflection, taking time to pray and center on the bountiful gifts from God: gifts of self, others, and nature. Enjoy the stillness of the walking trails as you spend time in prayer and renewal. Cost is $30 and includes continental breakfast and luch.
AN ADVENT JOURNEY...A GUIDED RETREAT...Friday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m. through Saturday, December 4 at 4:00 p.m.
Join us for an overnight experience of prayer and renewal as we enter into the Advent season of hope and longing. During these busy weeks as we prepare for the holiday season, we invite you to take some time away to calm your heart and prepare for this peace-filled, holy time of year. The retreat will include personal and communal prayer opportunities, guided by the retreat directors. Cost is $85 and includes room and meals. Limited space is available!

MONTHLY GATHERINGS AT KNOWLES MERCY SPIRITUALITY CENTER...
"Book It" to Knowles ~ KMSC Book Club gathers from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. monthly during the school year for a light supper of soup, salad, bread, and dessert followed by a book discussion and sharing. All are welcome (a free will offering for dinner). Please call in reservations at 402.359.4288. "Heart to Heart"...Christian Women's Quiet Reflection and Sharing Group meet from 10:00 to 1:00 on a weekday to share heart to heart connections with others, as they dialogue about family, life, and faith. Group discussion, quiet time to wander the grounds and relax, with beverages and snacks available. Gatherings coming up: Tuesday, September 21, Thursday, October 14, Tuesday, November 9. A suggested $5 donation for facility usage, snacks, and beverage bar.
"Evening Interludes"...an evening event for couples, friends, those bringing an elderly parent/grandparent, or just wanting time alone. Join us for a relaxed, nonstructured evening at Knowles Mercy Center. BYO picnic baskets welcome...snacks and beverages provided. $5 per person or $10 per couple.
Writer's Group...meets one Sunday afternoon a month to share their writings, take time to do some reflection in the quiet surroundings, and encourage one another. To learn more about any of the above interest groups call 402.359.4288.

Kathleen Erickson RSM...Currently serves on the Sisters of Mercy West Midwest Justice Team. Background in education. Also served on the Sisters of Mercy Administrative Team from 1982-90.
Marisa Gilbert...Director of Knowles Mercy Center. M.A. in Pastoral Ministry. Certified Spiritual Director.
Father Dick Hauser SJ...Director of Masters Program in Christian Spirituality at Creighton University, member of the Society of Jesus, speaker, author, long time professor at Creighton University.
Anne Pellegrino RSM...A full time spiritual director professionally trained and experienced as a retreat leader.
Sylvia Thompson...Sylvia has been a Religious Ed Coordinator and Pastoral Associate at St. Mary's Parish in Bellevue and has worked with the Columban Mission Society as Director of Mission Education in the US region.
