The Center offers a number of tools for the spiritual journey. Services we provide for body, mind, and spirit include these:
RETREATS—EXTENDED AND DAY LONG

Silent Directed Retreats are offered regularly throughout the year. Directed retreats range in length from a long weekend to a full week. Retreatants stay in a comfortable private room with all meals provided. The Center incorporates a meeting with a spiritual director into the rhythm of each retreat day. Daily gatherings for communal prayer are optional. A main meal is served at noon; other meals are available whenever the retreatant wishes to eat. The remainder of each day is filled however the retreatant chooses … praying, resting, walking, reading, listening to music. Massage is available.

Design Your Own Retreat Experience gives you an opportunity to choose a day or several days and overnights that fit your schedule. You will have a private room and use of our Chapel and grounds. If you wish spiritual direction, you can meet with the Center’s spiritual director or invite your own director to meet you at the Center. Bring your own food, or inquire about other food service options available for groups of 10 or more.

Group Reflection, Renewal and Celebration Mini-Retreats provide an opportunity for your prayer group, your spiritual support group, or your church circle or committee to spend time together for prayer, celebration, planning or rest and relaxation.
SABBATH DAY
Would just a day of rest away from daily responsibilities give your spirit a lift? Is there a special homily or talk that needs to be written or a personal issue calling for prayerful and thoughtful reflection? The Center invites you to experience a Sabbath Day whenever it is needed. The cost for a day (9:00 AM until 4:00 PM) with a private room and use of the Center’s library and resources, chapel, outdoor labyrinth, and grounds is $25. Spiritual direction can be arranged for an additional fee. Reservations for a Sabbath Day are made by calling the Center at 402.359.4288.
WRITING GROUP
Do you enjoy writing and see writing as a spiritual practice which connects the inner world and the outer? Would you like to share your writings with others? There is a writer's group meeting monthly at Knowles Mercy Center. The group decides the format, how often to meet, and the general dynamics. If interested or if you have questions call the Center at 402.359.4288
MEETING FACILITATION
We have experienced facilitators available on staff to lead your staff, team, or group through a day of retreat. They would be more than willing to visit with you about your group needs. Please call 402.359.4288 to visit with the facilitators or email kmscenter@mercywmw.org.
INDOOR LABYRINTH
Our portable indoor labyrinth is available for groups either at the Center or off-site. Fee for one day use off-site is $30. There is no fee for use by groups meeting or staying at the Center.
SPIRITUAL DIRECTION BY APPOINTMENT
Spiritual direction is a helpful tool for deepening one’s spiritual life and connecting to God. A trained director acts as a spiritual companion for the directee—listening without judging, raising questions, reflecting back, praying with and compassionately walking with the person on their spiritual journey. All that is shared remains confidential. Director and directee meet regularly for approximately an hour, usually monthly. Sliding Scale, $25-$50 per hour.
SPIRITUALITY PROGRAMS
Center staff and area presenters offer a variety of programs throughout the year to support those on the spiritual journey. See Retreats page for current offerings.
FOOD SERVICE
Our hospitality staff will create and serve delicious and healthy meals for groups of ten or more according to your specifications and dietary preferences. A variety of breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner menus are available. See Facilities page for costs.
GIFT CERTIFICATES
Gift certificates are available in the office or by mail for a Sabbath Day, Overnight Stay or one of our retreats.
PRAYER REQUESTS
Prayer Requests are always welcome. Please send requests via e-mail. Intentions will be held in a Prayer Shell in our chapel and included in the prayers of the Center Staff. |
